About Game Changer Communications
Changing the Game from the Twin Cities
Game Changer Communications was founded in the vibrant, innovation-driven market of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, where a pragmatic, results-first approach defines business success. We are proud to call the Twin Cities our home base, and the region’s strong work ethic and deep corporate ecosystem — especially within the B2B, technology, health care and professional services sectors — is deeply ingrained in our practice.
While our roots are firmly planted in the Midwest, we operate nationally and compete successfully against large, well-known communications and PR firms across the country. Our philosophy, driven by the Umbrella Model of Strategic Communications, is built to scale. We consistently deliver holistic organizational success for clients from New York to New Mexico, ensuring their narratives drive tangible business value.

MEET OUR Founder & CEO
Jason J. Sprenger
Jason Sprenger founded Game Changer in 2012, and still leads the firm today.
Before Sprenger founded Game Changer, he worked at FICO as Public Relations Manager for North America. For nearly two years, he led all public relations activity for the company in the region and all retail PR activities for the company worldwide. He and his team grew North American PR/media prominence metrics by nearly 3x within fiscal year 2011, and contributed to a corporate stock increase from about $21 to more than $45 per share during his tenure.
Prior to FICO, Sprenger worked at privately held data storage company X-IO Technologies (formerly Xiotech), and built its corporate PR department from scratch. Before that, he worked in three Minnesota PR firms. A short list of former clients include Target, Coca-Cola, Airstream, Lawson Software, Qwest, the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Twins, U.S. Trust, Medtronic, the United Health Foundation, etc.
In addition to his work, Sprenger has volunteered extensively with the pre-eminent trade organization in his industry, PRSA, for more than 20 years. He served one term on PRSA’s National Board of Directors (shown at left), where he set policy and advocated for the Society’s 25,000 members and the profession as a whole. Jason also chaired PRSA’s 2,200-member Midwest District in 2020 and served as President of PRSA’s 400-member Minnesota Chapter in 2016, among other leadership roles.
Sprenger is also Accredited in Public Relations (APR), and has been since 2009. In the PR business, this is the equivalent of an advanced degree or certification; only a small percentage of practitioners pursue accreditation, and an even smaller percentage continually dedicate the time and resources required to maintain it. He is proud to carry this credential, because he cares deeply about practicing his craft to the best of his ability and adding maximum value to your business.
In the broader community, Sprenger sat on the SXSW Advisory Board for seven years; the Board of Directors of Minneapolis-based Bolder Options for four years; and the Board of Directors of The LEAD Project in Minneapolis for two years. He has taught as an adjunct professor of strategic communications at the University of Minnesota, and is a sought-after speaker on many topics at major events around the nation.
In 2017, the University of Minnesota’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication awarded Sprenger its “Above the Fold” award – given annually to just four alumni who have “achieved great accomplishment and prestige early in their careers.”
In his personal life, Sprenger is a proud husband and father of four. He enjoys traveling, playing/watching sports, music and the latest streaming TV and movies.
